The Toby Center is neutral. Our only alliance is with the best interests of the child. We work with attorneys, judges, GALs, DCF, and agencies to help families achieve the best possible outcomes.

Who Can Submit a Referral

We Accept Referrals From

The Toby Center works with all parties in a family matter — we're here to help Moms, Dads, Children, Counsel, Guardian Ad Litems, Judges, and Case Managers.

Family Attorneys

Attorneys representing either parent in a custody, visitation, or family court matter. We help you represent your client — even when they object to court-ordered supervised time sharing.

Judges & Courts

We accept court-ordered referrals for supervised visitation, monitored child exchange, reunification therapy, and co-parenting services.

Guardian Ad Litems

As a GAL in a private case or with an agency, we can help advise you of fundamental family research which may be helpful in supporting the best interest of the child in litigation.

DCF & CBC Agencies

Since 2013, The Toby Center has provided contracted services to child welfare agencies to assist placement of foster care children with their biological parents.

School Counselors

We work with school counselors and educators who identify children experiencing the effects of family separation or conflict, connecting families with the support they need.

Community Organizations

If your community may benefit from a Toby Center program, please contact us. We serve all residents regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or disability.

How the Referral Process Works

A simple four-step process from referral to service delivery.

Complete the online referral form below or download the PDF version. Include all required client and case information.

We Contact You

Our intake team will contact you within 1 business day to confirm receipt and discuss next steps for your client.

Client Intake

Each client completes an intake prior to scheduling. The intake allows clients to share concerns and clarify treatment goals.

Services Begin

Services are scheduled and delivered by our trained and licensed staff. You will receive regular updates as required by the court.

What We Need

Referral Requirements

All referrals must include complete documentation. Incomplete referrals will delay intake scheduling.

Required Information

The following information must be included with every referral:

Signatures of financial authorization and identified services
Clearly stated reasons for service request and case goals
Presence of domestic violence or child abuse history
Criminal history (alleged and pending charges)
DCF / CPS and related agency history
Psychological status and evaluations
Complete client background information
Court Order (if applicable) — attach or email separately
