What is it?

Understanding Reunification Therapy

Child Reunification Therapy is a specialized therapy serving two specific goals — rebuilding the emotional connection between a child and an absent or non-custodial parent, while preparing the child for a healthy, supported transition.

Strengthen Bonds: strengthen the apparent bonds of affection when the child's affection for the absent or non-custodial parent remains emotionally challenged due to loyalty to the residential parent.

Prepare for Reunification: fully engage the child with the absent or non-custodial parent to prepare for a change of custody as considered by the foster care agency, juvenile court, or family court's determination.

Reunification is a process, not an event — our therapists guide every step with care for the child's emotional safety.

Progress notes and clinical reports may be made available to support family court custody determinations. Sessions are available across counties throughout Florida, Connecticut, and Massachusetts — making this service accessible wherever your family is located.

It is recommended that all Court Orders and visitation agreements specify which party is responsible for the fees. Fees may be allocated between the parties with specified percentages designated per party. A separate intake/registration fee is required for each client family.
